About
Speaking Music 301 bridges the gap between understanding music and bringing it to life! Designed for students ready to strengthen their musical independence, this course focuses on developing the skills to confidently read and perform unfamiliar music without relying entirely on recordings or demonstrations.
Through interactive sight-reading exercises, solfège activities, rhythmic challenges, and practical musical application, students will learn to translate written notation into sound, strengthen their pitch accuracy, and develop greater confidence performing music at first sight.
Each month focuses on a different aspect of musical fluency, beginning with pitch sight-reading in July, progressing to rhythmic sight-reading in August, and combining both skills in September to develop confident, independent sight-singing.
Whether you're a singer preparing for auditions, a performer wanting to learn music more efficiently, or a musician looking to become more dependable in rehearsals, Speaking Music 301 will help you turn musical knowledge into practical performance skills.
What You’ll Learn
Build your music-reading skills one step at a time, from recognizing notes to understanding the patterns behind the music.
