Amber has loved theater since before she was born—literally! Her mother, Nicole, fondly shares that while pregnant with Amber, she attended a production of Beauty and the Beast, and “every time the orchestra played, [Amber] would dance and move all around.” As a toddler, when brought on a tour of a high school theater stage, the spotlight focused on Amber, and she lit up like the sky on the Fourth of July. You could say she has been doomed from the start. (Thanks, Mom!)

From Shakespeare to Sondheim, from Oklahoma to Tarzan, Amber simply loves performing on stage. She has a lengthy resume of theatrical performances, having averaged two productions a year since the age of 10. Some of her favorite roles include Rusty in Footloose, Maria in Twelfth Night, Meg in Little Women, Sophia Zubritsky in Fools, and Miss Shingle in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.

Though she did not attend university for the arts, Amber graduated from Utah State University in 2019 with a degree in Social Studies and an emphasis in Secondary Education. She loves teaching and is passionate about developing safe learning environments for students of all ages. She believes that theater can be one of the best classrooms, as it was where she developed a better sense of self, saw examples of how to explore creative avenues, and first learned how to fail gracefully and try again.

Amber continued to learn about failing gracefully when she joined The Antics Comedy Improv in 2020. Her experience in improv helped reinforce this lesson as she developed an ability to think quickly, adapt, connect ideas, and support other performers in real time. She was given many opportunities to lead practices, direct shows, and perform with a wide variety of personalities. In addition to managing the group’s social media and participating as a member of the production team, Amber performed with the group for five years.

She discovered a deep love for technical theater in recent years that has surprised and delighted her. Amber dabbled in tech in high school, learning basic sound and lighting skills and “dramaturging” for a production of The Crucible. But in 2025, she was thrown “Into the Fire” to co-stage manage Music Theater West’s production of The Scarlet Pimpernel. She then stage managed Four Seasons’ production of Peter and the Starcatcher the following year. Her experience in casting and working with production teams has provided invaluable insight into what directors are looking for in auditions, preparing for and developing characters, and exploring technical theater.

When Amber is not at rehearsal, she loves rereading her favorite books (namely The Princess Bride and Harry Potter) and spending time with her kids. Amber enjoys crafting of all kinds, playing Stardew Valley with her boyfriend, and watching shows like Chopped and Dancing with the Stars, where she shares LOTS of opinions about things she cannot personally do!
