About

Reading Music 101 is the first step toward becoming a more confident, capable, and independent musician! Designed for students who want to strengthen their music literacy, this course introduces the fundamentals of reading and understanding written music in a fun, engaging, and practical way.

Through interactive games, guided exercises, and hands-on musical activities, students will learn to recognize notes on the treble and bass clefs, understand rhythmic notation and time signatures, and explore major and minor scales. Rather than simply memorizing musical symbols, students will practice applying their knowledge to real sheet music and musical examples.

Each month focuses on a different foundational skill, with opportunities to practice, reinforce learning, and demonstrate progress through engaging activities and end-of-month challenges.

Whether you're a singer who has always learned by ear, an instrumentalist looking to strengthen your fundamentals, or a musician ready to fill in gaps in your knowledge, Reading Music 101 will help you build the skills to approach written music with confidence.

What You’ll Learn

Build your music-reading skills one step at a time, from recognizing notes to understanding the patterns behind the music.
