About Batschi Vocals

Batschi Vocals is a premier vocal studio located in American Fork, Utah, offering both in-person and online lessons.

We specialize in helping vocalists of all ages and abilities build strong foundations in sight-reading, vocal health, and sustainable technique. While many studios focus heavily on performance or competition, our primary mission is different: we help everyday singers improve their physical and mental wellbeing through singing.

We are not a competition-driven or fame-focused studio. At Batschi Vocals, we emphasize understanding how the voice functions. Students learn what is actually happening in their bodies as they sing so they can develop healthy, confident, and sustainable technique. We prioritize:

  • Healthy, sustainable vocal technique

  • A safe and non-competitive learning environment

  • Understanding how the voice works — physically and mentally

  • Growth through education rather than pressure

Our studio operates on a structured semester system:

  • January–April

  • May–August

  • September–December

Each semester includes a Collaborative Group Class (“Singers’ Circle”) and a Studio Recital. These built-in performance opportunities allow students to grow in confidence and community - without requiring instructors to independently organize or produce events.

In addition, we offer one-off coaching sessions for auditions and performances, helping students reach their individual goals within a supportive, non-competitive environment.

Since moving from a home studio into a brick-and-mortar location, Batschi Vocals has more than doubled in the past six months. We are committed to thoughtful, long-term growth and to creating a place where both students and instructors can build something meaningful together.

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and developing Vocal Instructor who wants to focus primarily on teaching while being supported by an established studio system.

At Batschi Vocals, we handle marketing, registration, billing, and studio systems — allowing you to focus your energy on pedagogy and student development rather than running a business.

You will:

  • Teach private voice lessons to adolescents and adults (30- and 45-minute sessions)

  • Guide students in vocal technique, musicality, and performance confidence

  • Learn and implement the Singing Athlete methodology

  • Integrate science-informed vocal principles into your teaching (full training provided)

  • Track student progress and communicate with parents

  • Participate in recitals and collaborative studio events

  • Contribute to studio operations, including light administrative tasks (organization, printing, filing, maintaining studio cleanliness)

Experience or interest in social media and marketing is a strong plus as we continue expanding our reach.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative — someone who sees what needs to be done and steps in without needing to be micromanaged.

Why Instructors Love Teaching Here

Built-In Performance Opportunities
Each semester includes a Collaborative Group Class (“Singers’ Circle”) and Recital. You do not need to organize or manage these events independently — we handle the structure so you can focus on preparing your students.

True Schedule Flexibility
Instructors build their own weekly teaching schedule and may adjust availability between semesters. Your schedule can evolve as your life changes.

Professional Development
Ongoing mentorship, weekly team meetings, and a dedicated Singing Athlete study group ensure you are continually growing as an educator.

Creative Collaboration
You are part of a creative leadership team. We meet weekly to brainstorm, develop new ideas, and shape the future of the studio together.

Focus on Teaching — Not Business Management
Marketing, registration, billing, systems, and studio infrastructure are handled for you so you can concentrate on student growth.

Training & Professional Development

We are committed to developing our instructors, not just employing them.

  • Paid training will take place throughout April (flexible start date) at 50% of your standard hourly teaching rate.

  • The official semester begins April 27, 2026.

  • All instructors are required to attend Singing Athlete Level 1 Training (June 5–7, 2026) to become certified.

  • Instructors participate in a weekly team meeting focused on studio growth, creativity, and collaboration.

  • Instructors also participate in a weekly study group centered on Singing Athlete principles and understanding how the voice functions (anatomy, coordination, and brain-body connection).

You do not need to already be an expert in voice science — you do need to be willing and excited to learn.

Opportunities for compensation increases are available based on performance, contribution, and overall studio growth.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Desires long-term growth within an established studio environment

  • Is passionate about helping students improve both vocally and personally

  • Is empathetic and understands the emotional vulnerability of singing

  • Is collaborative and excited to be part of a creative team

  • Takes ownership and initiative

  • Is open to mentorship, feedback, and continuous learning

  • Values teaching and stability over managing the business side of a studio

Skills Required:

  • Strong vocal technique and performance background

  • Experience in classical, contemporary, or musical theatre styles

  • Ability to play scales and demonstrate melodies on the piano during lessons (advanced accompaniment skills not required)

  • Basic understanding of vocal anatomy preferred (expanded training provided)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in vocal technique and performance.

  • Experience with various vocal styles, including classical, contemporary, and musical theatre.

  • Proficiency in sight-reading music and ability to play melodies on the piano to accompany students during lessons.

  • A willingness to learn effective and supportive teaching methods.

  • An empathetic understanding of the emotional and physical vulnerabilities associated with singing, with a desire to support students in overcoming these challenges.

  • The ability to create a positive, motivating, and encouraging environment for young learners.

  • A solid understanding of the anatomy of the voice and how it impacts vocal production (this is included in training).

Studio Culture

We believe singing is deeply connected to physical and mental wellbeing.

Our goal is not to create stars — it is to create healthy, confident singers who understand what is happening in their bodies when they sing.

We are building something meaningful and growing quickly. We are looking for someone who wants to invest in that mission and become part of a long-term team.

If you are excited by the idea of teaching within a structured, supportive, and expanding studio — and contributing to a wellness-driven approach to voice — we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application and resume to join our team at Batschi Vocals.
